Jipmer Puducherry Overview
JIPMER fully abbreviated as Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research is an Indian medical school that located in Pondicherry. The motto of this institute is “Truth Cures.” This school was opened on 1st January 1823 making it one of the oldest institutes in India. The JIPMER Puducherry is basically a residential medical school having its campus. The government funds this institute and work under their administration. It has national importance and equips with a referral hospital coming under the administration of the Directorate General of Health Services. There are more than 3,000 nursing and administrative staff in this hospital for caring for the people.
JIPMER Alumni Group
There are a variety of vibrant alumni communities and organizations created by the former students who passed out from this institution. They are named as JIPMER Alumni Association, Jipmernet, and JIPMER Alumni Association of North America. The first one JIPMER Alumni Association is the oldest in the organization and known for organizing yearly meet in August.
On the other hand, Jipmernet is an online virtual community where alumni’s from all over the country participate. There are plenty of regional organizations in this institute that are named JIPMER Alumni Association of North India and the JIPMER Alumni Association of the United Kingdom.
JIPMER Organizational Structure
This institute comes under the direct control of Indian Government, Directorate General of Health Services, and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. As of August 2018, the directors of JIPMER are DS Dubey, K B Logani, T S Ravi Kumar, Subhash Chandra Parijia, P Bahadur, and MN Ghosh. The overall duties of running the hospital and institute are headed by the director as the chief executive.
