Jimmy Buffett Bio

We are talking about 72 years old American songwriter, musician, actor, author and businessman. He is a well known folk country singer who has written popular songs like Margaritaville and Cheeseburger in Paradise. His most recent album is 2013’s Songs from St. Somewhere and 2016’s Tis the Season. The latter one is also his 29th studio album overall.
Early life
Jimmy was born on 25th December, 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, United States as James William Buffett III to Mary Lorraine and James Delaney Buffett, Jr. He was raised in Mobile, Alabama where he attended St. Ignatius School. He graduated from McGill Institute for Boys in 1964 and further joined Auburn University, Pearl River Community College and University of Southern Mississippi earning his bachelor’s degree in history in 1969. His interest towards music started at a very young age when he used to play trombone in grade school years. His early job aside from music career started with Billboard magazine in Nashville. He also spent out many years working as first mate on the yacht of industrialist Foster Talge on Petticoat III in Key West.
Musical career
It was in early 1970s when he introduced himself as a country artist further recording his first album under title Down to Earth and High Cumberland Jubilee. But unfortunately he was left unnoticed and he decided to move to Key West where he developed his beachcombing persona. He then signed a contract with ABC-Dunhill and made release of White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean in 1973. This all helped him gain some loyal following but the real critical acclaim came from his sixth album, 1977’s Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Altitudes. In this he brought forward his party standard Margaritaville song followed by song Cheeseburger in Paradise that was released in 1978’s follow up album, Son of a Son of a Sailor. He continued as a popular live performer across the country and is also a thriving businessman with two restaurant chains named after his best-known songs. He has also authored numerous books including the best selling “A Pirate Looks At Fifty”. The multi-talented Buffett even went for many cameo appearances in films like Repo Man, Hook, Cobb, Congo and From the Earth to the Moon. Recently in 2017, he developed a musical ‘Escape to Margaritaville’ which got debuted in San Diego.
Personal life

He was in marital relationship with Margie Washichek from 1969 to 1971. Both got separated and he moved on with his second marriage with Jane. Both have two daughters; Savannah Jane and Sarah Delaney with one adopted son Cameron Marley.
