Jerry came to limelight by making appearance in American television sitcom, Seinfeld, on NBC from 1989 to 1998.
Early Life
Jerry was born on 29th April, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York, United States as Jerome Allen Seinfeld to Kalman Seinfeld and Betty. He was raised in Massapequa where he completed his education attending Massapequa High School on Long Island and later joined State University of New York at Oswego further majoring in communications and theatre from Queens College, City University of New York after making transfer in his second year of college. His father was also a closet comedian who served as his first mentor in generating a spark to his early career. He was eight when he started rigorous comic training by watching television day and night to improve his comedic skills. After several years of practice he finally made a start in 1976 in comedic career after getting graduated.
Career
Jerry started his career making his first stand-up debut at an open mic night in Catch a Rising Star nightclub. Soon he managed to get his national exposure through appearance on The Tonight Show in 1981. This worked in great interest by bringing his career up and making him a highest-profile stand-up comedian personality in the United States. He then thought of starting his own television special, Jerry Seinfeld’s Stand-up Confidential, in 1987 which later caught attention of NBC and he was offered to develop a sitcom with fellow comedian Larry David. The show Seinfeld got started and reached unprecedented levels of popular and critical acclaim. He ran for nine seasons of the show from 1989 to 1998 and later went for other projects too that include a best selling book titled Seinlanguage (1993) and Halloween (2003). He also did another television show, The Marriage Ref. in 2010 with a panel of comedians seated to discuss on real-life conflicts and squabbles of different couples which ran for single season. In 2012, he worked for an interview show titled Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, which recently in 2018 got reported a lawsuit by Christian Charles on Jerry for stealing the idea of the show.

Jerry has received the honour of being included as 12th out of 100 Greatest Comedians of all Time by Comedy Central in 2005.

Jerry dated Carol Leifer and Shoshanna Lonstein before getting married with Jessica Sklar in 1999. Both together have three children; Sascha, Julian Kal and Shepherd Kellen.
