Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Overview
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is a chain of Indian schools for the talented students. It controlled a New Delhi based organization named Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. This organization work under the administration of Indian Government, Ministry of Human Resource Development, and Department of School Education & Literacy. These alternate schools are popular as the JNVs. All their schools are completely residential and co-educational institutions that are affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education. They only teach the students from sixth to twelfth standard. It was established way back in 1986 with a single branch and now expanded to a great chain. As of January 2018, more than 1.1 million people are studying in their schools.
Some notable alumni of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya are VT Balram, Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem, Lalit Prabhakar, Sanjeev Mohapatra, and SurendraPoonis.

JNVs Schools Details
There are nearly 600 residential schools administered by the school administration that are divided into eight different regional offices explained below:
• Bhopal- States like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha came under this office.
• Chandigarh- This office is responsible for controlling operations of states like Punjab, J&K, and Himachal Pradesh.
• Hyderabad- It is one of their largest offices controlling schools located in states of Kerala, Pondicherry, A& N Islands, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
• Jaipur- This regional office control schools in the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi.
• Lucknow- The schools in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal come under this office.
• Shillong- This regional office controls the schools of North-eastern Indian states like Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura, Assam, Sikkim, and Meghalaya.
• Pune-The JNVs schools in the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Daman & Nagar Haveli, and Gujarat.
