Jamestown Settlement Overview
James Settlement is an open-air history museum which operated by the Commonwealth of Virginia. The history museum built in 1957 with the name Jamestown Festival Park. The Jamestown museum specially created for the 350th-anniversary celebration. The present open-air museum includes Powhatan Indian Village, Indoor and Outdoor Display and recreation of James Fort. The museum also has a look-alike of the original settler’s ships which are Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery. The museum includes remnants of the 18th centre jury Ambler Mansion.
The Jamestown is the first permanent English settlement in North America established on May 14, 1607, and located near Williamsburg, Virginia. The Virginia Company financed the settlement of people. At the end of the 19th century, Jamestown became the center of interaction for the preservation of the historical site. A part of the island donated for the conservation of Virginia settlement.

The galleries of the museum have a large collection of objects which
are related to the nation’s beginnings. The living history is the main attractions of the museum. In the living history, visitors can see three ships. There are several events held in Jamestown Settlement, and few of them named as re-enactments, historic trades’ fairs, lectures and anniversaries. The Jamestown also has artifacts, recovered from rediscovery project and archaeologist works.
The visitors can dine at Jamestown Settlement Café located in the museum for having a memorable moment. The Jamestown also has special museum stores and museum stores where visitors can buy toys, jewelry, shirts, caps, DVD related to history and many more. The visitors can see a demonstration of 17th-century daily life in the Outdoor area of the museum.
