He was born on 11th August 1983 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in the family of Craig and Leonie Hemsworth. He also has two brothers one is older Luke and the other is younger Liam.
He studied from Heathmont College and later went to Screenwise Film & TV School for Actors in Sydney, Australia majoring in American English.
Career
Chris started his career in 2002 being a TV actor from series, Guinevere Jonas, as King Arthur. He then continued to star on TV series and auditioned for the role of Robbie Hunter in Soap-opera, Home and Away, but was called back for the role of Kim Hyde in the series.
This brought him the career breakthrough success receiving the award by the Australian Film Academy for being the Breakthrough of the Year.
At the same time, he also appeared for TV series like The Saddle Club, Marshall Law and then making it to the 5th season of Dancing with the Stars.
He moved to the USA in 2007 for more challenging roles and became part of the series, Star Trek, portraying George Kirk followed by role in criminal comedy movie, Cash, but the turning point of career came when he was offered the role of Thor, a legendary Scandinavian god with great power and a magic hammer Mjolnir in a movie by Marvel.
He thus became the constant figure of the never-ending Marvel Universe franchise. He is now working for the upcoming Avengers film.
