His father Pete Hernandez was a percussionist and his mother Bernadette was vocalist/singer. During his early years he used impersonate Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson; he is very influenced by both the legends. He attended the President Theodore Roosevelt High School from where he graduated in 2003. While at school, he used to perform in a group, called, The School Boys. He moved to Los Angeles to live his dream and pursue his music career. He performs under his stage name “Bruno Mars”.
Career
Bruno Mars started working on his music career, just after he finished his school, he moved to Los Angeles and there he met songwriter and producer Philip Lawrence, He was signed under the label Motown Records. In 2006 he was signed to Atlantic Records and it benefited his career a lot. In 2009, Bruno Mars and Philip Lawrence collaborated with Ari Levine to create and establish a record production team, “The Smeezingtons”, the collaboration was soon a success and made them associate and work with other artists too. In July 2010, Mars released his first single, “Just the way you are”. The single peaked at no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. His album “Doo-Whoops & Hooligans” was named as “the year’s finest pop debut”. His second album was released in December 2012, its single “Locked out of heaven” toped the Billboard Hot 100 yet again. His songs get widespread popular and owns places in top chartbusters every time. His album “24k Magic” was released in 2016 and became huge success. Bruno Mars has won several awards and nomination in his career, he has won three Brit Awards and has been thirteen times nominated for Grammys and won 2 times.
