About Bill English
Simon William English, who is famously known as Bill English is former Prime Minister of New Zealand. He served as the 39th prime minister of New Zealand from the period 2016 to 2017.
Early life
Bill English was born on December 30th, 1961 in Lumsden, New Zealand to parents Mervyn English and Norah English. Bill grew up in large family, he has eleven siblings and he is the 11th kid among the 12 children. Talking about English’s education, he has attended St. Thomas School in Winton and later on went to St. Patrick’s College in Upper hutt. He has also completed an honors degree in English literature from Victoria University of Wellington.
Career
Bill English has started his political career in year 1980, when he joined the National Party, at that time he was still student at Victoria University. In year 1996, Bill became the Minister for Crown Health Enterprises and associate Minister of education. His party lost election in year 1999 to Helen Clark’s Labor Party. In late year 2001, the leader of National party resigned and he came the
leader. During 2008 elections, Bill English on by the majority of votes of around 15,000 for the seat of Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand and Minister of France. And later on he became the 39th Prime Minister in year 2016.
Personal Life
Enrique Pena Nieto has been married once in his life, he met his wife Mary Scanlon while completing his studies, she was a medical student; love blossomed among them. The married couple together has six children, a single daughter and five sons.
