About Benjamin Netanyahu
Benjamin Netanyahu is the current Prime Minister of Israel. He is holding the office from March 31, 2009. He is also the member of Knesset and Minister of Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs. Apart from politics, he is also an author and has written books in Hebrew, which are translated in other languages.
Early life
Benjamin Netanyahu was born in Tel Aviv on October 21, 1949 to Tzila Segal and Benzion Netanyahu. He has two siblings also and his father worked as a historian and a professor. Talking about his education status, Netanyahu has attended Henrietta Szold Elementary School. After relocating to Philadelphia in United States, he went to attend Cheltenham High School and completed his studies in year 1967.
Career
Benjamin Netanyahu left United States to join Israel Armed forces. He came back to US in late 1972 after his army service and enrolled at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study architecture. However, he went back to Israel in 1973 to fight in the Yom Kippur War for a 40-day period. Soon after
completing his education he was appointed as a management consultant for the Boston Consulting Group in Massachusetts where he worked from 1976 to 1978. Netanyahu served as the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations from 1984 to 1988. In 2002 he served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from November 2002 until February 2003. After that he became the Minister of Finance, serving in this position till August 2005. He won the elections in 2009 and was elected as Prime minister and is holding the office till today.
Personal Life
Benjamin Netanyahu was first married to his wife Miriam Weizmann. They tied the wedding knot in 1972. They also had a daughter together, but soon his wife discovered that his husband is having an extra marital affair, so she divorced her.
In year 1981, Benjamin married his flame Fleur Cates, for whom he left his first wife but the marriage didn’t lasted long and couple headed for divorce in year 1984. Benjamin married for the third time in 1991. His third wife was a flight attendant he met on one of his travels. The couple has two sons.
