5 things you should know about BTS
the Korean K-Pop group
For the first time in Billboard history a Korean band was nominated in one of their categories and thanks to fans, they won the award for best Billboard Music Award for Top Social Artist.
BTS or Bangtan Boys are one of the most relevant groups in K-Pop today. Their name means Beyond the Scene. They were nominated at the Billboard Awards 2017 in the category best social network artist with celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Shawn Mendes.
The singers caused a stir on their way through the pink carpet; even personalities like Camila Cabello looked for a photograph with them.

Who are they?
• The k-pop group is made up of seven members:
• Jin (Kim Seok Jin) 24 years old is a vocalist and dancer.
• Suga (Min Yoon Gi) 24 years old is rapper, dancer and producer.
• J-Hope (Jung Ho Seok) 23 years old is a rapper and the main dancer.
• Rap Monster (Kim Nam Joon) 22 years old is the leader of the band, rapper, dancer and producer.
• Jimin (Park Ji Min) 21 years old is a vocalist and dancer.
• V (Kim Tae Hyung) 21 years old is a vocalist and dancer.
• Jungkook (Jeon Jung Kook) 19 years old is the lead vocalist, dancer and rapper.
Awards
The band has received five awards for the best new artist in South Korea. They won the Best New Artist award at the 2013 Melon Music Awards, two in Japan and one in China.
In 2015 they also received an MTV Europe Music Award for best Korean artist and a nomination for best Asian artist
A year later they received the daesang award for artist of the year at the Mnet Asian Music Awards and the best album of the year at the Melon Music Awards for The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever.
Their huge presence in social networks positioned them as the first k-pop group to be nominated and receive a Billboard Award.

Discs
The South Koreans have two studio albums, four EPs, a single and a compilation album in South Korea. In Japan they have released two studio albums, seven singles and a compilation album.
Wings, the last studio album, broke records as the best ranked South Korean album on the Billboard 200 chart.
In Japan they have been number one on the Oricon list, making them the first foreign hip-hop artists to get it
With the simple Blood Sweat & Tears, in its Japanese version, they broke the record of the foreign artist who more quickly managed to sell 200 thousand copies of an album since its debut.
Tours
Despite its short time in the world of music, the group has made five tours: two world tours, two in Asia and one in Japan.
They have also participated in international festivals such as Summer Sonic in 2015 and KCON in Los Angeles in 2014 and in the editions of the same festival in Abu Dhabi, Paris, New York and Los Angeles in 2016.
