AzimPremji who has full name Azim Hashim Premji was born on 24th July, 1945 in Bombay, India, which is now called as Mumbai. He was born in a Muslim family and his father was a well-known business man named Mohamed Hashem Premji. His family at the time of partition in 1947 was invited to stay at Pakistan by Jinnah, but they chose to stay in India only. Azim Premji went to abroad for completing his studies, he went to ‘Stanford University’ and soon came back after the death of his father to take care of the family business.

Azim Premji has inherited his father’s business in year 1966, after the death of his father. After Azim Premji took over the control of the company, it diversified into other products with vegetable products. It was named “Wipro” in 1977. The company enjoyed success and Wipro’s value elevated to great heights by the late 1990s. The growing wealth of the company also ensured that Premji became one of the richest businessmen in the world. The ‘Business Week’ hailed him for being one of the Greatest Entrepreneurs for making Wipro one of the fastest growing companies in the world.The company has its presence in 67 countries.

AzimPremji is a family man, he is married to a woman named Yasmeen, the couple has together two children, which they named as Rishad and Tariq. Rishad is currently serving as the Chief Strategy Officer at Wipro.
