American Pickers

History channel is working on a reality television series named American Pickers that got aired on 18th January, 2010 in collaboration with Cineflix Media and A&E Television Networks. The series was created by Mike Wolfe who is well known for finding out a treasure inside mountains of garbage. The series is based on a mission started by Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz who used to go on a hunt to recycle America by diving into countless piles of grimy junk and hitting out roads from coast to coast and earning their living out of garbage transforming them into treasure. They just raised the antique business to upscale boutiques changing out the thinking of people about American history. The Antique Archaeology business of Mike is actually carried out by Danielle Colby. The trio works together and sells out the treasure on their shop and also on the designed website. The series at present has worked on 19th season with completion of around 253 episodes.

What they actually collect and how?

They search for all those antique collectibles in people’s homes, sheds, barns, outbuildings and places where they have stored out. They pick out items of their choice particularly antique motorcycles, old Hondas, commercials, film posters, Piaggio Ape and many such things that add value in future. They always have the curiosity to discover something that has never been seen before. They are almost ready every time to find such extraordinary items and hear fascinating tales about them. They have seen a lot of rusty gold over the years and are further looking to discover more.

Is it popular?

Yes, it is popular counting out 3.7 million viewers just on its premiere episode in 2010. Now it has raised the History Channel to success being the highest rated series and paying out $500 thousand per season to its creator Mike for its fifth season. Mike is now 53 years old celebrity enjoying out net worth of $4 to $7 million whereas Frank has also accumulated a good wealth of estimated $4 million to his name. Mike without the show has also managed to hit the fortune through legitimate antique selling.

What’s new?

The show is looking for new location and is ready to explore Connecticut this coming summer where they can purchase and collect new antiques for series new episodes. They are actually planning out to give historically significant objects a new lease on life while learning more about America’s past.

Mike Rothermel says: My name is Mike Rothermel. I have a life long friend that was on the show. It was hard for him at the time to let go of a lot of his collection. Since he was on the show he has had a stroke and is in need of more money to pay those dreaded hospital bills. So I was thinking that he might be ready to let go of a lot more now. Yo may want to contact him one more time to see if he might be interested. His name is Tim D ensing from Stevensville, Michigan. Yoerg Bahl says: I own a 1968 Honda S90 motorcycle and I am the original owner since new. My parents bought it for me when I was 12 years old. Serial number is S90 797352. I taught all of my 3 children to drive a motorcycle and this same bike on their birthdays. It has 7896 original miles and I am in the process of getting it back to its original condition. I had an accident in October of this year and broke not only my back but also fractured a vertebrae in my neck that I have had surgery on in 2002.
If you have any interest in it you can contact me after 12/29/2016 as that is when I hope to be released from my doctor.
My computer is down until I am able to move back to my home as I am presently being cared for at my daughter's home.

brandt says: I have an email via xfinity. I have a TV access which is limited. Therefore, I do not watch American Pickers on TV. What I do not understand is why I am not allowed to watch American Pickers on internet when it is American Pickers that sends me information to watch. What is going on? I pay for the internet and then I am told I am not allowed to watch because of my TV arrangements with xfinity.

Stop sending me information if I am not allowed. Now I get it. Anything that broadcasts on TV is not allowed on my service. No money for both. Stop sending me information on internet telling me to join. I already paid for internet but evidently no programing for Pickers.

I have an old Budweiser light that I am looking to sell. I have researched everywhere and I cannot find even a picture of it online anywhere. I found one guy who has one and he said that he contacted the company and they told him that it was produced in 1978. They only made 300 of them and at the time they sold for $400. It has the Howard company on the back of it. Its in mint condition. It has the Clydesdales horses pulling a wagon and they move and give the illusion that the horses feet and wagon wheels are moving. Very nice piece. I would love to sell it but have no clue what it is worth? Help me please. Thank you.

Bonnie Patlan says: Dear Mike and Frank,

I would first like to say that my husband and I are big fans of your show. We enjoy learning about all the different finds you come across. My dad was a big collector of antiques not to mention clocks and coins of all kinds. The question I have for you both is this. I have a very old pair eye glasses that my dad collected at one time and would love to sell them to you. I am very desperate for money at this moment. We are on a very tight budget, my husband is the only one working and he only makes 9.75 an hour. We have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and could use the money to buy her some Christmas presents. I would only like 100.00 for them. I am not even sure how much they are worth. I pray that this email reaches you and that you respond to it however I know that you are both very busy as well and this is just a shot in the dark. Hope to hear from you soon. My phone number is 541-668-2***.

You guys have at multiple times have given wrong information. Like the sea bee pillow case that was said by the pervious owner it was made by a Japanese family for his dad. It was wrong.
These where got at a navy store PX after training camp.
I was in the sea bees this Pillow case you showed was of World War II vintage. My friend has his dad's originals sea bees one just like the one you bought. All branches made these during World War II.
I have my dad's mint condition army Air Force pillow cover from training camp in Utah World War II. I have it framed in glass it looks brand new. There is a special name for them. I can't recall it at this moment. Anyway just trying to help you with some facts.
I was a picker and collector in the 60th till the 90th. I stop doing it full time then.

I am a great fan of American Pickers. I not only watch it when its on the History channel but I also watch it on Comcast' Xfinity when it's not on the History channel. I love this program. Salvation is sacred to we Christian's. Love the program, please don't mock the Christian religion.

I just watched a segment of your show where the boys bought things from a nice young couple with three children. They were very naive and didn't know the value of the things they sold. Mike and Frank gave them only a third of the value on every item they bought. I was so disappointed with the fact that they took advantage of them.

I have recently acquired an old train car that I know is old but have no idea exactly what it is worth. It has a 1500 on the side, but nothing else is legible. It is approximately 2 ft. Long and is very rusty. It does in fact have a steering wheel that still works and old pretty dry rotted tires on it. It's just one car that looks as though it is an engine with a coal burning compartment, attached is a photo.

I have a 1969 Bennett pressure breathing therapy unit model number is AP-4. Was wondering if you could tell me what it might be worth to a collector, it has all the parts that came with it I have tried to see if it works however it's looks to be in good condition just needs some cleaning from being in storage for probably 40-50 years.

My husband and I are cleaning out my in laws home. Needless to say they have saved everything since 1950. We have come across numerous items that are very rare and very old. A lot of old toyz from the 50s and 60s. We are in need of knowing what to keep and what to get rid of. We are also looking for a legitimate and honest antique business that is interested in purchasing some if not all of these antique and vintage toys. We were wondering if your business would be interested in looking at some of these or if you could refer us to someone legitimate that could take a look and possibly purchase some or all of these items.
Thank you,
Chris Matt

Hi, I have a 1939 Indian Scot. Well it belongs to a friend its the only thing he has left that was his father's. I have been helping him out trying to get all the rust off and everything free and spinning. However the transmission is broken. I fond a couple teeth in the gear box. I am wondering if you have a gear box for a 1939 Indian scout? I am in the Delco area of PA. I know you are here or coming here to film and figured what luck. The "U" key isn't showing "Up for some reason. Anyway, I look forward to hearing back from you. I also know a lot of the "junk yards" around and my uncle can find almost anything mechanical, cars, motorcycles etc. Thank you for your time. I really hope to hear back from you. I wish I could post a photo of the Scout the way it sits now.
