The company also operates several sister websites named as Findsomeone.com, Travelbug, Holiday Houses and Life Direct. As of 2015 records, the Alexa rank of the website was 1,844. The Trade Me website was the fifth greatest visited in New Zealand. In June 2015, the website visited by more than 878,000 people each day. The current Chief Executive Officer of the company is Jon Macdonald.
The banking system is used by the company to settle the payment. The company also allows sellers to use credit card payment by Pay Now. The seller's address can only be verified by confirming their street address. The sellers can block unverified bidding members. The member of the website can auction General Items, Car, Motorbike, boat, Property on the website.
History
The founder Sam Morgan created the website while working in Deloitte. The Sam work on internet projects and supply-chain issue for creating this site. The website has more than 155 members in its first week. The company started giving free service to sellers and buyers for adding for more members. In 1999, the website offered their services to more than 3500 members. After the acquisition of the company Sam Morgan and executive remained with Trade.
