Samsung is the South Korean conglomerate multinational brand that has a history of 80 years. The brand offers product services in Brazil since 1995 and is a tech-only brand that is working hard to connect with consumers through a people-first narrative.
Recently, the brand was in controversy in Brazil for passing off stock photo off as a sample for their new launch and claimed to have those stock photos as the shot using front camera of the Samsung Galaxy A8. When it came into notice the brand was pulled down tweets depicting those pictures and for misleading consumers in Brazil.
When was it started?
The main company was inaugurated on 1st March, 1938 in Daegu, Japanese Korea by Lee Byung-chul as a small trading company with just count of 40 employees. They initially started business in dried-fish, groceries and noodles. The business successfully ran by diversifying in many different areas and grown to Samsung C&T Corporation which is present at the day.
In Brazil, they came into business in 1995 using the subsidiary alliance Brazil Samsung Electronica da Amazonia Ltda. that is based in Sao Paulo and deals with manufacturing and marketing of electronic devices. In products they include phones, tablets, television, audio devices, computing devices and home appliances such as coolers and air conditioners. Recently they have partnership with Brazil’s Itau Unibanco to invite more users to its mobile payment system in June, 2018.

The company is considered as the leader in smart phone sales in Brazil, increasing its market share by ten points and securing 42.9 percent of all sales in the fourth quarter of 2015 in comparison to the same period previous year.
