Telecheck is an US based company who offer paper and electronic check services to their customers. They are basically a check acceptance organization that assists more than 374,000 merchants around the globe. Some of the major services provided by the company are transaction verification, check acceptance, and guarantee that takes places through phone, internet, and direct sales. The clientele of this company include big box stores, grocery, utilities, financial institutions, and lots of other retailers. The owner of the company is First Data who are one of the biggest American credit card transaction processors.
The company was established in 1964 as TeleCheck of Kanas. However, they operate under the same name for around 30 years before changing their name to TeleCheck Services.

There are lots of checks performed by the TeleCheck so that they can provide right information about a person. The company’s operations are divided in two parts that are explained below:
• Debt VerificationThere is a live database including check and bank account debt records maintained by the company. It is reported by the merchants. Afterwards, the present of unpaid debt are verified by the firm so that they can make their check acceptance decision.

• Risk-based decisionIn this part, the historical check data is examined and patterns are identified through analyzation and comparison of invalid check transactions with the valid check transactions.
