O ’Reilly Auto Parts is a company that deals in automotive aftermarket parts, equipments, tools, accessories & supplies. O ’Reilly Auto Parts is open for both professional service providers & for DIY (Do it yourself Customers). It is the largest speciality retails in its own field. This company was founded by O ’Reilly family in 1957 and presently serving in 44 states by having more than 4500 outlets. In Dec 1957, O ’Reilly Auto Parts opened its very first store of Auto Parts Business in Springfield, Missouri.
Charles Francis O’Reilly use to work as a travelling salesman in St. Louis for Fred Campbell Auto parts, as he found this area of springfield very appropriate for auto parts, he asked for transfer to same and after some year he became manager in Link Motor supply, later his son Charles H. (Chub) O’Reilly also joined the same company and they both made the company dominant in their territory. But in 1957, when Charles F. O’Reilly was about to retire , he got a transfer to Kansan City, this transfer option was not accepted by O’Reilly, so
they opened their own store of auto parts with 13 employees. In 1998 Hi / LO Auto Supply merged with O’ Reilly, as O ’Reilly Auto Parts acquired HI / LO was named in 10 auto parts chains. In 2008, O’Reilly Automotive acquired CSK. As O’Reilly bought CSK, Checker Auto parts, Schucks Auto Supply, Kragen Auto parts, this began a good desicion for O’Reilly as it opened doors to new market. In starting O’Reilly rebranded parts of Schucks Auto Supply, Kragen Auto parts, Murray’s Discount Auto Stores and Chekcer Auto Parts) in 2009.
