Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) is an American public utility company having operations in the state of Florida, United States. The corporate headquarters of this corporation is situated in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. The company was established by City & County Government in 1968 as City of Jacksonville Electric Department, whereas they changed their name to Department of Public Utilities in 1997. They adapted their present name in the 2000s.
Presently, the company is owned by the Northeast Florida Community. They have a workforce of more than 2,000 people working in the different parts of the state. In addition to Jacksonville, the company has operations in the counties of Nassau, St. Johns, and Clay.

As of 2016 records, the company offer services to 455,000 electric customers, 261,000 sewer customers and 337,200 water customers. The company has invested $113 million in water & sewer solutions and $114 million in electricity solutions in the year of 2016. Since 1998, JEA has invested more than $3 billion in water and sewer infrastructure.
Furthermore, company’s linemen have won two championships in the same year. In the United States, they are the eight largest community-owned electric utility organisation. A great portion of company’s revenue came from their residential customers.
