We are here talking about 1905 formed South African goods manufacturing company that is well known for the supply and manufacturing of domestic appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, gas stoves and tumble dryers.
The company is now headquartered in Durban, South Africa under the supervision of Evren Albas, CEO with 2,600 employees.
How it was formed?
John Skinner and Sir Benjamin Greenacre founded the company in 1905 in Wentworth, KwaZulu-Natal.
Their first product at that time was electric stoves in 1932 they later expanded in its product range after being acquired by Arcelik a Turkish based company for US$ 324 million in 2011.
They are now currently active in function from three factory sites;
• East London: The factory here manufactures electric refrigerators.
• Ezakheni: They are known for the manufacturing of electric refrigerators and electric chest freezers.
• Jacobs (Durban): Here they manufacture built-in-ovens, hobs, tumble dryers and freestanding stoves.
All the above-mentioned factories are accredited in terms of ISO 9001-2009.
Aside from this they also operate sales and service centers in major provinces across the country.
Their operating income counts R2,5 billion as per the 2010 report and is currently the largest manufacturers and distributor of South Africa.

Achievements
Recently the company received the Kasi Star Township Brands annual award which was hosted by a leading South African market research company in June 2018.
