Airtran
AirTran is a popular airline company having their headquarters in Orlando, Florida. More than 700 domestic flights are operated by the company to various cities of the United States. The slogan of the company is “Go. There’s nothing you”. The main hubs of the company are General Mitchell International Airport, Orlando International Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
The company doesn’t have a membership of any global airline alliance. However, they have a codeshare agreement with Southwest Airlines. The fleet of the company has more than 140 aircrafts, such as Boeing 717-200 and Boeing 737-700. The major cities served by the company are Atlanta, Washington, DC, Pittsburgh, Akron-Canton, Orlando, Fort Myers, and Tampa. There are two types of cabins available in the company’s flights, such as Economy Class and Business Class. The service varies according to the cabin. Since 2011, they are operating as the wholly owned subsidiary of the Southwest Airlines.
The company was started on 26 October 1993 as ValuJet Airlines, whereas they changed their name to AirTran on 17 November 1997.
Airtran Rewards Program
There is a popular rewards program run by the company, named A+ Rewards. In order to offer the benefits of the program, the company has partnered with Hertz, e-Rewards, and e-Miles. The customer can earn points in this program by one-way coach & business class flights and Hertz rental of 4 & 5 days.
